ICT and Business - KS3 Computing

The Computing curriculum has undergone a complete redesign, bringing it up-to-date with current trends, technologies and requirements. Students will now receive comprehensive coverage of a wide range of fundamental computing skills, detailed knowledge in introductory areas and understand personal e-safety and computer security.
Year 7

During Year 7 students will cover a range of topics from the following:

 - The School Network and Email Systems
 - eSafety & Computer Security
 - Software including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop, 
   Web Browsers and Outlook
 - Spreadsheets
 - Programming with the BBC Micro:bit and an introduction to Python

During Year 8 students will continue their study of computing with topics including:

 - Computer Components and Systems
 - PC Construction
 - Logic including Binary, Boolean Algebra and Logic Gates
 - Website Programming with HTML
 - eSafety

Year 9

In Year 9 students will complete their KS3 studies by investigating topics such as:

 - Programming with Python  
 - The History of Computing 
 - eSafety 
 - Image manipulation with Photoshop
